About Paul Overhauser

Paul Overhauser brings exceptional depth to intellectual property law. Paul not only has successfully protected and defended the licenses and trademarks of numerous individuals and companies, but he also is conversant in technology as a result of completing a computer science degree at Purdue University. Moreover, he benefits from a wealth of experiences in technology, startups, venture capital and other corporate matters gained while working in Research Triangle Park.

A graduate of Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington, Paul focuses on intellectual property, patent infringement, patent application, copyright infringement and trademark infringement.

Paul has performed due diligence on behalf of companies including Exacq Technologies during its acquisition by Tyco, and Just Energy Group, Inc. during its acquisition of EdgePower, Inc. More than $3 million in damages were recovered by Paul for McRoberts Software, Inc. in a jury trial against Media 100, Inc. regarding software licensing, a precedent-setting verdict upheld by the Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.

His lengthy list of achievements include being named a Top Lawyer by Corporate Counsel in 2015, and a Top Lawyer by The American Lawyer in 2012 and 2014.
